OK, The Worm! Phaser, Vibrato, Trem and Auto Wah all crammed into a large pedal (about the size of 2 standard Boss\'s) all for under sixty quid. For the price you get 4 very good standard FX but as it\'s made by Electro-Harmonix, you can push them through the roof! It comes with its own power supply and a DVD of Peter Stroud doing some great demo\'s of the Electro-Harmonix range (nice touch).

OK, like a lot of Electro-Harmonix pedals, you have to play with it to work out its sound. It\'s one of the things I love about this oversized stomp box. The Vibrato and Trem FX sound lovely and do what they say on the tin! The Phaser is very good too, although I have to say I prefer my Black Russian Small Stone Phaser (also by Electro- Harmonix), the one in The Worm is much more akin to the USA made Small Stone. The Auto Wah works very well (not usually a huge fan of these) and it\'s easy to get some funk on the groove!

All of the above work best with lower rates and with the range set to about 2 O\'clock for sensible, standard FX results. However, if you pump up the range and the rate on any of the FX, things start entering new dimensions. If you couple the Auto Wah with a delay pedal and mess about with volume swells on your guitar, you will see what I mean (its Organ-tastic)!

You can switch the auto function off, which is a cool feature. This works best for the Wah and Phaser as you can pan the range pot and get all sorts of wonderful tones from your guitar. Very useful for studio work and lead guitar parts.

On the down side (yep, life \'aint ever perfect), The Worm does kick out some noise. Nothing to drastic and you won\'t notice whilst playing. I am certainly happy to live with some hiss for the amount of fun to be had.

If this ever broke (which I doubt it will, its a solid chunk of metal)I would get another without a second thought. Great fun, creative, sensible and off the wall all at the same time. Very well priced for what it does. Just remember to play arround and experiment, that\'s how to get the best out of it!
