My first ever midi controller (replacing old Yamaha PSR Keyboard), using with Reason and Cubase to create my own music. I spent ages trying different keyboards mainly for their ease of use with different software and my capabilities (limited)- I'm a guitarist experimenting rather than a keyboard player. The Novation SL allowed me to have stunning music in about 30 seconds of plugging it in especially in Reason. To misquote the advertisement - it does what it says on the box. Still getting to grips with many of the features (the complexity of editing drops the review from a 10 score)and how I can edit the template maps but the automap feature is outstanding. Its simply made creating music fun again. Now I just need to become a better player!

Looks good, feels good, gets great reviews everywhere about the quality of the keyboard, controls and easy setup (all true). So far so good - I am just in the process of updating the software (firmware) and am downloading some new templates tonight (all easy stuff to do). As I haven't worked with Midi before (or keyboards for that matter) I expect to go through some sort of learning curve before I get fully up-to-speed with all it can do - thank goodness it connects via a single USB connection (supplied). Just printed out some of Novation's helpful notes from their website about how to do all this stuff, so thanks to Novation for those and a big "thank you" to Dolphin Music for your excellent service too.
